Kinder News 5

  Kinder News 10-23-21


We have library class on Tuesday.  Please feel free to send the books early. We also have ECO on Thursday (Sunny low 37 high 58).  

Here is a snapshot of the past two weeks: 

-Worked on writing and sounds of letters n, m, l, u, c, r, s

-Heart words (words we need to know in a snap look for a copy of all kindergarten heart words this week in red folders.  Feel free to find playful ways to learn these words at home.) we, am, go, no, at 

-Reading groups worked on letters, letter sounds, snap words, pointing to the words as they read, and took picture walks, and writing about the story in their literacy journals

-Shopped for books for our reading boxes

-Apple Tree and Pumpkin life Cycles

-We checked on our mouse houses and made nature mobiles

-We painted a picture to go along with Frederick by Leo Leonni “we can all be helpful”

-Chanted/made a Five Little Pumpkin project

-Focused on classroom jobs

-Counted backwards starting from 20

-Worked on counting to 100 and number formation up to 10 

-Used our math menus during math (they get to choose which item on math menu they would like to practice)

-We worked on teen numbers and counting through the teen numbers

-Learned a count by 10s song

-Played base 10 memory with a partner

-Practiced writing numbers with proper formation

-Used our Chromebooks for Lexia

-Had a gem celebration -watched a Curious George Episode

-Earned another gem celebration for next week (Prize volt celebration the kids get to choose a recycled toy to bring home)

Possible Questions to ask your child:

What are the three things that Leroy must remember about his new horse?

How does the counting by 10s song go?

Let’s count backwards from 20 together!

Kinder News 4

 Hi Kinder Families,

We had another exciting week.  ECO went awesome. The kids were super safe and engaged with the outdoors.  We will have ECO every Thursday from 1:00-2:00.  Please help your child come dressed for the weather...everyone was ready to go last week.  Thank you!

No school on Friday, October 8th, 2021 (Inservice Day)


Here is a snapshot of the past two weeks: (I was out of town last weekend)

-Worked on writing and sounds of letters g, h, i, f, k and j

-Heart words (words we need to know in a snap) go, me, can

-Reading groups worked on letters, letter sounds, snap words, pointing to the words as they read, and took picture walks

-Started blending sounds/letters to make words

-We discussed what animals need to survive

-Made mouse houses

-Discussed how feeling can changed and wrote about them in our Owl Journals

-We made pictures and wrote words about ECO in our science journals

-Made apple trees with torn paper and apple stamps

-Made self portraits for September

-Worked on counting to 100 and number formation up to 10 

-Practiced using our math menus during math (they get to choose which item on math menu they would like to practice)

-We worked on teen numbers and counting through the teen numbers

-Played a roll and cover game

-Sang a song about singing in the rain with body movements

-Used our Chromebooks for Lexia

-Had a gem celebration “Extra Choice” time in the morning on Friday
