Kinder News 4

 Hi Kinder Families,

We had another exciting week.  ECO went awesome. The kids were super safe and engaged with the outdoors.  We will have ECO every Thursday from 1:00-2:00.  Please help your child come dressed for the weather...everyone was ready to go last week.  Thank you!

No school on Friday, October 8th, 2021 (Inservice Day)

Here is a snapshot of the past two weeks: (I was out of town last weekend)

-Worked on writing and sounds of letters g, h, i, f, k and j

-Heart words (words we need to know in a snap) go, me, can

-Reading groups worked on letters, letter sounds, snap words, pointing to the words as they read, and took picture walks

-Started blending sounds/letters to make words

-We discussed what animals need to survive

-Made mouse houses

-Discussed how feeling can changed and wrote about them in our Owl Journals

-We made pictures and wrote words about ECO in our science journals

-Made apple trees with torn paper and apple stamps

-Made self portraits for September

-Worked on counting to 100 and number formation up to 10

-Practiced using our math menus during math (they get to choose which item on math menu they would like to practice)

-We worked on teen numbers and counting through the teen numbers

-Played a roll and cover game

-Sang a song about singing in the rain with body movements

-Used our Chromebooks for Lexia

-Had a gem celebration “Extra Choice” time in the morning on Friday

We read many books including:

Mercy Watson Something Wonky this Way Comes by Kate DiCamillo

I like myself by Karen Beaumont

Rooster’s Off to See the World by Eric Carle

My Papi Has a Motorcycle by Isabel Quintero

Possible Questions to ask your child:

What are the three cares at ECO?

What animals did Rooster bring on his trip around the world?

What happens to your tongue when you say the number 13?

What did you do at the extra choice time last Friday?
